Bishop Newland was born in Duanvale, Trelawny, Jamaica and he has thirty four years ministry experience during which time he served in NTCG as a District and National Evangelist in Jamaica and Grand Cayman and for England and Wales. He served as Pastor and District Bishop for over 12 congregations in both countries.

He was District Bishop for the Sandy Bay District in Hanover Jamaica, and the Bilston District in the West Midlands, England. Bishop Newland served on a number of ecumenical local boards in a number of places he Pastored.

He has travelled extensively, preaching in all fourteen parishes in Jamaica, the Cayman islands, Aruba, the United States, Canada, England, Wales and Scotland. Bishop Newland is an evangelist at heart and is a people person, who loves to preach, teach and encourage believers in the faith. He received a MA from the European Theological College.
